Ladies and gentlemen, it is now possible to visit the Cíes Islands this winter.
Finally, we can enjoy a getaway to the Cíes Islands in the off-season. Starting September 16th, there will be a daily capacity of 450 people , and the ferry companies—in this case, MAR DE ONS — will handle the authorization process without going through the Galician Regional Government's (Xunta de Galicia ) central reservations system . Ideally, the Xunta would have been responsible for processing the authorization, as it is in July and August, especially with the aim of reducing the seasonality of tourism, but unfortunately, they haven't taken that step yet. The reasons why the Xunta doesn't want to continue regulating the authorizations are unknown. What a shame, isn't it?
Departures in November 2021
The Mar de Ons shipping company will make departures from the port of Vigo and the port of Cangas every Saturday and Sunday in October and November.
Departures in December and January 2021
From the ports of Vigo and Cangas there will be daily departures from Saturday, December 04th to Sunday, December 12th and from Saturday, December 18th daily until Sunday, January 09th.
NOTE: There will be no departures on December 25th and January 1st and 6th.
Departures on December 24th and 31st and January 5th will be in the morning.
