Route of Stone and Water

Sixth Stage: Armenteira to Vilanova de Arousa, 23 km

In this sixth stage of the Portuguese Coastal Way of St. James from A Guarda we will do the section from Armenteira to Vilanova de Arousa.

The Stone and Water Route

In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful stages, practically all downhill and flat, with no difficulty. The surroundings are spectacular.

We begin our stage from Armenteira , descending along the "Route of Stone and Water ," which winds through a stunning natural landscape between the municipalities of Ribadumia and Meis , in the Salnés region. Walking in the shade of the trees, we'll discover old watermills resting on the banks of the Armenteira River.

Rías Baixas Wine Route

Once we reach the flat part, after crossing the road, resting at the Bar O Chiringo de Concha is worthwhile. After the stop, we will travel along the " Rías Baixas Wine Route ", orchards and vineyards that indicate that we are approaching the Arousa estuary, specifically Vilanova de Arousa.
