Without further ado, we leave you with a reader's experience visiting the Cíes Islands. We hope you enjoy it, and for those of you who haven't been, we hope it helps you decide to visit.

As a child and not so young, I discovered the Cíes Islands and the Gran Playa de Rodas, which the English later declared the best beach in the world, much to the pride of many, although we all know that the water is very cold and swimming is only suitable for the brave, however, we come out of the water feeling like new after a couple of swims.

Watching the sunrise and sunset from Vigo or the surrounding area is magical; the view was delightful, and for photography enthusiasts, these are unique snapshots.

But that's not all we love about the Cíes Islands; they have other charms to discover. Some were able to enjoy them on camping trips, for which you have to request a waiting list in advance, and were able to see their beautiful starry skies.

Others, like me, recently discovered that you shouldn't be lazy in the Cíes Islands; just lying around doing nothing isn't right, you miss out on other beautiful sights. Walking towards the lighthouse that day was a revelation, revealing the magical Galician landscape.

Enjoying the Cíes Islands, their air, their birds, and the rocky landscape opened my eyes and I understood why many consider it a World Heritage Site and why it is part of the Atlantic Islands Natural Park , as all the Galician islands always shine in full splendor.

Although I admit there's still much for me to discover about the Cíes Islands, they are truly worthy of admiration. Even those of us who live elsewhere feel a pang of nostalgia when we remember that beauty, having grown up in that magical environment, in the land of witches, "our Galicia." This is coming from a Canary Islander, one of the lucky ones from the islands of Gran Canaria. Honestly, if you go to Galicia, don't hesitate to visit them.
