Fourth stage: Vigo – Cangas (by boat) – Bueu – Marín to Pontevedra (by bus), 22 km.
It is important to know beforehand that this route is unusual and very few people have done it before ; it is barely signposted. Talks are underway with the local authorities of each municipality to have it signposted. It is a pioneering route since most of the way will be alongside the beaches of the Pontevedra estuary. It is an alternative route to the well-known stage that goes from Vigo to Redondela and then to Pontevedra.
Exit from Vigo
We start our route from Vigo , taking the boat to Cangas with the only shipping company that makes this journey, the Mar de Ons shipping company . There are departures every day every hour, the cost is €2.25 for adults (one way) and children under 4 years old are free.
Arrival in Cangas
When we arrive at the Port of Cangas, we must visit the former Collegiate Church of Cangas and the Cíes Islands (16th century), the great jewel of the municipality with its Renaissance architecture and sculpture. It was once here that people embraced the Apostle James.

Route two Mills towards Bueu
We will follow the path towards Ruta dos Muiños de Coiro until we reach the hermitage of San Cosme , we will continue straight along Lugar a Portela street until we reach a crossroads, at the end of the road, we will find a washhouse with a path that passes under the road, the Sendeiro do río Bispo begins , we will pass near the Church of San Martiño de Bueu , then we will continue towards the port along a path that starts next to a fountain that is right below the Church.

Bueu to Marín
Once we arrive at the Port of Bueu we can rest ( Taberna la Viuda ) to continue our journey towards Marín , passing through spectacular beaches such as Loureiro, Portomayor (Ramón restaurant), Lapamán, Loira (Tapería A Figueira), Aguete, Portocelo to finally reach our destination, Marín.
In my opinion, we can rest on one of the terraces of the Alameda, next to the entrance of the Naval School and take a bus to spend the night in Pontevedra ; we can skip this 7 km stretch from Marín to Pontevedra, it is not visually attractive at all.
In addition, we will need strength for the next stage which has mountains, the climb to Armenteira.
