Holy Week is approaching, the time of year many Spaniards prefer for domestic tourism. With school holidays for the youngest members of the family, and some "not so young" ones, many take the opportunity for a short getaway. I say short because these days fewer and fewer people are lucky enough to take the entire week off; they only have one or two Holy Days plus the weekend. This varies from region to region and also depends on when Holy Week falls.
These days are perfect for visiting the Cíes Islands for several reasons. The main one is that, being the start of the season, prices are more affordable, to the point that tickets for children are free. Another good reason is that, unlike in summer, the temperatures are milder, inviting you to stroll around the islands from end to end without the oppressive heat or worrying about sunburn. You can also see the beaches without bathers, offering an ideal scenic perspective for taking photos that are different from those taken during the summer season.
It's also true that the weather at this time of year is unpredictable, but you have to make the most of it and embrace it as the great outdoor adventure that traveling to the Cíes Islands is. I don't know if you've seen it, but this is what I mean:
So, take advantage of this opportunity and come visit the Cíes Islands – you can even camp! And if it rains, let it rain! Let us know how your experience goes!
